About Beacons of Light Learning
Beacons of Light Learning was established in 2023 by Michelle Nichols. After teaching in public schools since 2012, she felt the Lord call her to another path in education. Mrs. Nichols is passionate about leading children to discover God's glory in all of His creation. What better way to see how magnificent our Creator is other than to study math and science? This passion led to the creation of Beacons of Light Learning.
Experience
Michelle Nichols graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree in 2012. She further went on to certify in middle school math and science.
From 2012 to 2023, she taught middle school math and science in Amber-Pocasset, Okarche, and Wellston public school districts. She coached a First Lego League robotics team during part of her time in Okarche. One year of her experience in public schools includes teaching 4th-5th grade. Now Mrs. Nichols travels around Oklahoma to teach kids hands on science experiments at expo events for pre-k through 12th grade. Mrs. Nichols also travels to teach private math and science classes one-on-one to students in their own homes.

A math or science class will be tailored for your student. Manipulatives are used for math concepts to strengthen understanding and retention. Science is filled with hands-on labs, activities, and experiments.

Want a specific topic taught with hands-on activities? Mrs. Nichols travels to homeschool groups, individual homes and expo events.
Private math tutoring is available for 4th grade math through 8th grade math (excluding Algebra I).

Math Tutoring
4th grade math through pre-algebra: $50 per hour
Group Tutoring: $40 per hour
Public location or location of parent choosing
Traveling Science Workshops
You choose the science topic or one from our list and we come to your homeschool group or home! Depending on the topic, a workshop may consist of 1 to 4 classes. Limit to 12 students per group please.
Individual Students: $40 per hour
Groups: $150 per hour (4-12 students)
Note: a lab supply fee may apply depending on the topic and activities included
